Eastman Guitars

Eastman Guitars and Eastman Mandolins came as the result of a passion for high quality string instruments inherited from our internationally recognized fine Eastman Strings line. Eastman Guitars offers musicians an opportunity to enjoy instruments produced by expert craftspeople entirely by hand using the best possible tonewoods, and time tested carving/building techniques. Eastman Reeds

Eastman French cane reeds are French cut and French filed. They are available in two profiles, Venuto and Esperto. The Venuto reeds are made using a traditional French cut and are the recommended reed for players that use a short facing mouthpiece. The Esperto reed uses a variation of the French cut made from a thicker blank that produces a fuller tone with more projection then the Venuto. They are recommended for players that use a long facing mouthpiece. However, players should try both profiles to find the best fit for their individual needs, as these are only suggestions.

Welcome to Eastman Music Company

Eastman Strings was founded in 1992, yet it is already an integral part of the long and glorious history of one of the most fascinating musical traditions the world has known. Through our violin and bow making activities, we at Eastman Strings are attached to a tradition nearly 500 years old, and we strive to maintain a level of artistic and commercial achievement worthy of our predecessors.

The history of the violin family is fascinating and complex. It has all the elements of a great story, and our place in that story tells a lot about how we view the importance of what we do. There are many books and websites that offer extensive information and speculation about the history of violinmaking, and it is not our goal to repeat all of this information here. Let it suffice for us to pick up the story in the late 19th century, when economic and social factors came into play to influence the art of violin making and bring it into the modern age.

The enthusiastic introduction of Eastman Winds into the brass instrument market benefits brass players in this important marketplace. Eastman's growing reputation for excellence lies in the talent and accomplishment of its designers, makers, and company philosophy. At the forefront of Eastman is a commitment to the customer to make the finest instruments at each level of playing. This ensures the musical success and confidence of students, amateurs, and professionals.

Early in the development of the brass instrument line, Eastman chose to partner with the master brass instrument maker, Stephen Shires. This unique collaboration has lead to Eastman by Shires instruments. These instruments include special features that are only found on high-end professional brass. Eastman Winds offers the Eastman by Shires instruments at an attractive price point for greater reception in the market. Additionally, Mr. Shires has been acutely influential in the design and production of the entire brass line. His influence is evident in the standard set for each instrument that we make.

Schertler Pickups and Preamps

If you get the feeling during a performance that your instrument, equipped with a SCHERTLER AUDIO TRANSDUCER, sounds entirely "acoustic", just as if you were sitting in your living room at home, then I will feel my efforts have been worthwhile - just precisely in that I have added nothing to your sound.

Ritter Gig Bags

What is a bag? You put something in it, close it up, and carry it. How exciting is that – on a yawn scale of 1 to 10, this rates about 9.5. In 1996, RITTER™ had the vision to change all that and make bags that were not only superbly functional but also very stylish.

From the start RITTER™ realised that faced with a choice between a bag that was functional but dull, and another which was functional and chic; people would go for the functional chic.
