S.E. Shires, a leading manufacturer of high-end professional brass instruments, is seeking an experienced, energetic, and hard-working craftsperson to join the team in Holliston, Massachusetts. We are a small, tight-knit group of craftspeople dedicated to making some of the finest handmade brass instruments in the world. This is more than just our job, it is our passion.
Responsibilities
Assemble simple to sophisticated instrument parts and components
Use hand tools, touches, and other light machinery
Basic soldering and brazing of brass, nickel, and steel parts
Follow established procedures on routine work with limited supervision
Maintain a clean and orderly work area
Wear appropriate PPE including safety glasses, face shields, and gloves
Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards
Support continuous improvement activities and participate in problem solving activities
Consistently meet production, quality, and attendance requirements
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s or Technical School Degree preferred
Strong attention to detail and uphold highest standards for quality
Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
Musical instrument experience is a plus
